Privacy Policy

The short version

LinkHandoff is designed to inspect PDFs locally. Your uploaded PDF is processed inside your browser and is not uploaded to or stored by LinkHandoff.

PDF scanning

When you select a PDF, the browser reads its pages, text, embedded link annotations, and previews on your device. LinkHandoff does not send the PDF or its page contents to our servers.

If you choose to check external links, only the web addresses extracted from the PDF are sent to LinkHandoff's server for a one-time status check. Those requests may necessarily disclose the server's IP address and standard request information to the destination websites.

Monitoring waitlist

If you join the monitoring waitlist, we store your email address, where the signup occurred, the consent version, and the signup time. We use this information only for LinkHandoff monitoring updates and related product availability notices.

We do not sell waitlist information. You may request removal through the contact method below.

Analytics and technical data

LinkHandoff uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand anonymous page traffic. Vercel states that this service stores anonymized data and does not use cookies.

LinkHandoff also counts a small set of anonymous product events: completed PDF scans, started manual link checks, and scan errors. These event records contain only the event name and time. They do not contain PDF contents, filenames, extracted links, email addresses, or IP addresses.

Hosting infrastructure may process standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, device or browser information, request times, and error details, for security and reliability.

Service providers and retention

• Vercel hosts the application and provides anonymous web analytics.
• Supabase stores monitoring-waitlist entries and anonymous product-event counts.
• Resend delivers waitlist confirmations and signup notifications.

Waitlist information is retained while the monitoring feature is being developed or until you request deletion. Anonymous product events may be retained to compare product usage over time. Operational logs and other analytics are retained according to the service providers' applicable settings and policies.

Your choices

You can use the PDF scanner without creating an account or joining the waitlist. You can also avoid server-side link checks and inspect the extracted destinations yourself.
