Terms of Use

Effective August 23, 2026

Agreement

By using LinkHandoff, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What LinkHandoff does

LinkHandoff identifies embedded link annotations in PDFs and can request a current response from eligible external destinations. Results are a quality-control aid, not a guarantee that a link is safe, correct, continuously available, or appropriate for your audience.

Your responsibilities

  • Only scan files you are authorized to access and review.
  • Verify important destinations yourself before delivery or publication.
  • Do not use the service to probe private networks, bypass access controls, overload websites, or conduct unlawful activity.
  • Do not rely on LinkHandoff as a security scanner, accessibility audit, archival service, or substitute for professional review.

Link-check limitations

A working status means a destination responded at the time checked. Websites may block automated requests, return different content to different visitors, redirect later, or become unavailable after a scan. Restricted or unreachable results do not always mean the link is broken.

Availability and changes

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features, usage limits, and availability may change or be suspended without notice. LinkHandoff may restrict use that threatens the service or third parties.

Disclaimer and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LinkHandoff disclaims warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. The service operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

Privacy and contact

Use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy. Questions may be sent to hello@linkhandoff.com.
